Protection and Indemnity insurance, (P&I), is one of the fundamental shipowners’ insurances and provides cover to shipowners, operators, and charterers for third-party liabilities encountered in the commercial operation of entered vessels. The main risks covered are liabilities and expenses, in respect to cargo claims, crew and passenger claims, collision, property damage, pollution, environmental damage and removal of wrecks.
